Update - Press and hold the microphone icon. It should bring up a list of keyboard options, and split keyboard should be among them. If it doesn't work, could you please post a screenshot?

What version of Android are you running? 4.3 brings emoji support, so if you can upgrade, do it and the problem may be fixed.

Here's how to enable it Settings>About tablet Quickly tap your build number multiple times and it'll unlock. Then go back to settings and scroll all the way down the bottom. You'll see a new section called Developer options.

I've never done this before, but I think changing your location in developer options could work. Settings>Developer options>Allow mock locations

Are you limited to only 10 apps! :p Install whatever you want and as many as you want. Try them and if you don't like, then simply delete.

Also swipe down from the top edge of the screen - nearly all Android phones have the settings button there (notification shade). It's a handy shortcut so you can access settings from within almost any app.
