Good day. How do you turn off the "stock" messae application on a HTC Vivid, it is interfering with the Handcent application I downloaded.

Good day. I am new to the Android world. I have a HTC Vivid and I took notice when I type a text message, sometimes after I type a word and hit the space bar the word I just typed changes to a different word. Is this normal? If so is there a work around or app to fix it?

I am glad I am not the only person with that issue. I took my phone to the local AT&T store explained to them exactly what you posted and they did not have an anwser.

I have downloaded and installed the Handcent app. When I receive a text, I receive the same text twice. I have uninstalled Handcent and reloaded it and it still happens. It shows only one Handcent icon on the phone. Has anybody experienced this problem with Handcent?

I recently upgraded to the HTC Vivid after having a Blackberry for many years. The first thing I took notice is the battery life for the Vivid does not last long. Can someone recommend any tips / tricks/ or an app that will prolong the battery life / power. Thanks

Thank you for all the information. I downloaded Handcent because of its features, but when I receive a text I receive it both on the preloaded Messenger and Handcent. Can I turn off or disable the preloaded messenger application so I receive the text messages only on Handcent? If so how.....

I have been reading different threads on this web site. I read where people refer to "stock message", I am going to show my ignorance, what is a stock message or a stock message app and where do I find it on the phone? Thank you from a Vivid Stupid Person
