Moto G6 not charging

My moto g6 won't charge most times except in recovery mode(very slowly). When i boot to recovery mode it says: battery ok(charging). I've tried a factory reset, I've tried to boot it to safe mode, but nothing works.
I was thinking my charging port must be faulty but if it is, why does the phone charge in recovery mode and why does it charge normally once in a while (4 times in 2 weeks)

Have your tried different cables and wall chargers?

Welcome to Android Central! Also, use a can of compressed air to blow out the charging port, and a small Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol to clean the contacts.
