headset jack problem

I started having some issues with heavy static when using a wired headset. I thought it was the headset, but two new headsets have had the exact same issue.

Anyone else have this issue? Anyone know how to resolve it?

Do you have any lint in the headphone jack? I had an problem with another phone where headphones would work intermittently and it turned out the problem was lint from my pocket which prevented a good connection.
