Droid 3 Calendar & Contacts Issue

I have a Droid 3 - after giving up on Companion Link to sync my Outlook 2010 to my phone, I'm using the Google Calendar sync and it seems to be working OK...the one issue is Facebook birthdays. I can't get them off my phone! I've seen tons of posts about going into the calendar app on my phone and unchecking Facebook sync but I don't have that option at all. I've also looked on the Google Calendar site and nothing there. How do I get rid of these birthdays??

2nd issue - how do I auto sync my contacts to update like my calendar? If I type a contact into Outlook or Droid - I want them to sync often. I can't figure out how to do this?
