Is there a way to change the look of the Messaging App on the New Maxx to Black background and white letters?

I am coming from the Bionic and I have to say I wish I could change the color theme of the stock SMS. I liked the color scheme on it. Are we sure there is no way to change it?

There doesn't appear to be. I'm fine with it the way that it is, though a dark theme would be better for AMOLED, IMO.

You need to go to the Play Store and get a replacement app if you want to change or customize the UI.

changing the colors of the stock app should be a requirement for all OEMs. all aftermarket messaging apps are missing something that prevents me from sticking with them.

I changed to the Verizon Messages App for my Bionic and now on my MAXX, it is very customizable and free and works beautifully.
