It's the first phone I've ever used without one. I'll still grab a tpu case but not sure if I'll keep it on or not.

I have read that the phone does not need a case. What do you guys think?

It's never needed until you drop it and break something, so think it as an insurance. If you want to rock it naked, just knowing you are taking a risk, regardless how small it is. (I have a case but not using it, cause I am a risk taker) :p

If you don't like the feel of a case that's one thing. But personally I never understood the argument that someone doesn't want to cover up the sexiness of the phone. I guarantee you, with all the phones out there no one notices what yours looks like. And actually, they're more likely to notice a nice case than a naked phone.

I picked up an Otterbox Commuter case yesterday . As much as I like my phone naked . I know i'm prone to dropping my phones . I have an s5 that I dropped 5 times in 7 months . Had a case on it and the phone looks new still .

I like to use Diztronic but I'm not seeing anything on their web site about any upcoming items so I emailed them - hopefully they will do something for us. Normally I use something like this in the summer with shorts but come winter, I'm not a fan of shoving a device in jean pockets so I am looking for a minimal case/holster combo. Hopefully Seidio will launch something as well.

The reasons I was thinking about not getting a case are that the device is supposedly water resistant and ballistic nylon should absorb quite an impact. So that leaves the screen. If you drop the phone, even in a case the screen can break. I have broken screens on Galaxys, DNA, iPhone, etc even though they were in cases. So with that I am not sure I need a case.

In my work world, a case is a necessity, simply to prevent the phone from getting destroyed. I'm already seeing the value potential in finding a good tempered glass screen protector as I find the stock plastic protector in the Otterbox wanting. Hopefully the glass protectors will be out soon from the major aftermarket manufacturers.

If I worked a white collar job, I could see going 'naked'. The phone has a pretty robust build and form.

I have the ballistic nylon and I love the feel of it, but still got a case (otterbox commuter) to keep the phone looking great even after I inevitably drop it.

If you drop $700+ for a phone, yes you need a case. Idk what insurance plans cover, but I do know a $50 Otter Box case will cover your phone and save you the hassle. Some argue for different cases, but get one nonetheless.

Go to Otterbox.com and you can look at them or go to your local Verizon store. At the store you can mix and match colors to create your own . If you buy from Otterbox they only have 4 colors .

A case is always needed, IMO. You'll be glad you had one when you drop the thing on the floor/cement/pavement/whatever.

I'm going to buy a Lifeproof case sometime next week.

That me. I develop software at a desk 12 hours a day. The biggest hazard I have to worry about is getting wet walking from the car to the office. I am not one that takes a phone into the bathroom, Yuck, or running, etc.

Sorry but I can't post a URL as I have less than 10 posts. Nonetheless, on Amazon search for - TUDIA Ultra Slim LITE TPU Bumper Protective Case - I'm keeping my eye on this one and it will not be released until the 11th.
