How can I get my screen to appear less dark when trying to take pictures outdoors?

My Droid ultra

I cannot take outdoor pics on my ultra as the screen is VERY dark. I have no camera settings I can find

If you have 4.4 or higher, try Active Display. It will adjust your screen so you can see it.
