Customizing The Droid X

I would love to customize my DroidX a little bit... Is there any way to do like a different color keyboard, customize the SMS backgrounds, fonts, etc without rooting it?

If you have not done so yet, get yourself a launcher, I use "Launcher Pro". ADW and Go Launcher are good choices as well. Go SMS, Chomp SMS, and Handcent are good alternatives to the stock SMS. Finally there are several choices for keyboards, try them out and see which one you prefer.

I use Smart Keyboard PRO from https://market.android.com/details?id=net.cdeguet.smartkeyboardpro&feature=search_result and I love the themes and is way smoother than the stock GB keyboard and does not lag while texting..
