Over clooking my phone

Im looking at rooting my phone to over clook it but its my work phone and if i brick it i have to get a new droid 2 and I dont want that phone is there a app or some way tha i can do that with out rooting it

You have to be rooted for SetCPU and have a custom kernel for overclocking to work. You can try Easy Root for .99 which should let you root and then use the free version of Rom Manager to install Clockwork Mod Recovery and a custom kernel

Once you get it rooted, install Rom Manager(believe the app can install it or you can get it in the market), open the app and flash Clockworkmod Recovery and then reboot into recovery. Select Nandroid and Backup. This will give you a semi-stock base to go back to should the kernel you try not agree with the phone.
