Open or closed? How would you like your Android?

Well, I've been of the opinion that Google should tighten their control over Android to deliver a more unified user experience across the platform as a whole. I think that it's on its way there personally. What do you think and why?

Google bought Motorola mobility. Patents aside, they now, theroreticaly can control the hardware. Answer enough?

no it's a bit more than that. just because you now have a hardware manufacturer in-house doesn't necessarily mean that you draw back to a closed ecosystem. I'm talking about taking it as far as stock Android for all, no Sense, Blur, TouchWiz, or whatever else they can put out to differentiate one OEM from another. Google controls it. Google runs it. Sort of what Microsoft does with its devices when it says this is the minimum spec you need to have. I'm referring to getting EVERY device on the latest update (2.3.6).
