Welcome to AC. :)

It's not uncommon for Android phones to get warm when being used or when charging, but if you're having serious issues with the phone overheating (typically devices will shut off and display some sort of warning icon at potentially dangerous temperatures) then you should have it replaced for a new one. You definitely deserve a properly-functioning phone.

As for deciding between the Galaxy Mini and the iPhone, we all have our opinions but in the end the choice is yours. My personal choice would be the iPhone over the Galaxy Mini, but that's just me. I know that many users here would prefer any Android phone over any iPhone, any day.
