Keyboard active behind notification shade.

In the middle of replying to a text... I get a notification that I wish to swipe away or i wish to reply. Suppose I pull the shade down for replying to that whatsapp message. But the keyboard appers behind the notification shade and it is impossible to type anything like that. The. I have to either swipe up the notification bar or i have to open whatsapp for reply "ok.". And now suppose this time i swipe down notification shade to swpie away that unwanted message and touch on reply button now again i have to open that messaging app or either i have to close everything to home screen. I am using Samsung J6 2018. Please help.
