Trouble syncing calendar with laptop/desktop

I am having trouble getting the calendar on my Note 2 to sync up with the calendar on either my desktop or laptop. I currently use the default calendar app that came with the phone from Verizon. I also have the Google calendar app loaded on the phone. If I enter an appointment in calendar (default), it syncs it up with the Google calendar app that is on my phone but not with the Google calendar that I can pull up from my desktop/laptop. If I enter an appointment in the Google calendar from my laptop/desktop, it syncs up with both the default calendar app and the Google calendar app that is on the phone.

Anyone have any suggestions?

i bet you are making those appointments on your phone on the internal calendar, rather than the google calendar. it's called "My Calendar".
