Bluetooth Skip and Rewind Not working

Hi,

I have a note 3 and listen to music via bluetooth through my Sony car radio and also through a Samsung Bluetooth headset. I normally listen to Spotify, but sometimes stock player and Poweramp.

I have lately noticed an irritating problem (it hasn't always been like this).

After listening to tracks for a while the skip and rewind buttons on the bluetooth device (any device) operate sometimes but not all the time. I can skip and rewind tracks by pressing the soft buttons on the phone, and after I do, the bluetooth controls are restored. This occurs when listening to music through any of my music player apps.

Sometimes if I just leave it a few minutes the bluetooth controls are restored.

Strangely, even when skip and rewind are not operating, the Samsung bluetooth headset volume control still works.

So, the skip and rewind commands coming into the phone are flaky, irrespective of app or bluetooth device.

Has anyone got any ideas about cause and remedy?

Unfortunately I don't, but I know someone that used to have a Note 3 until recently.
