New box with four squares. How to make it go away...

I'm not sure how it got there but it needs to go. I'm not sure what it's called so I can't search for a solution. When touched, it opens up options to go to the home screen, back, turn off etc... How do I turn it off?

Never mind.... it's called the assistant menu and I've gotten it off... geez that was annoying....
