Why won't my missed calls count reset?

Missed Calls Count Won't Reset

Starting this afternoon I noticed my Phone icon is still showing the number of total missed calls, even after I clear the notification and actually go to the call in the Recent Calls list. I'm on Verizon. Seems like that's a network thing, right? Is there an alternate way to reset that?

Go to Recent, long press the missed call(s) and choose DELETE.

That doesn't clear or change the count, nor would I think I should have to delete them to clear that count. Previously all I had to do was access them in the Recent list.

bummer. i've no further suggestion other than to ask Verizon tech support, or wait for someone else to chime in here. good luck with it.

FYI, found a solution elsewhere:
Go to settings > application manager > All
Find BadgeProvider and clear data
Reboot

badge provider is a new on on me. I use Nova Launcher TeslaUnread Plugin for badges on home screen.

I have tried clearing the badge provider app multiple times and it has not worked. When I reboot all the missed calls come right back. I can clear the call log and the notifications go away untill, of course, I recieve another missed call. Then even if I clear the notifications when ever I restart the phone the notifications are back, like these are brand new missed calls.

I am in the same boat. Clearing the data from the badge provider doesn't work for me. As soon as I reboot, all of the calls show up again as missed in the count. Anybody else come up with a solution?

I have also tried deleting my entire call history, which works as long as no one has called me. But, the instant I get another missed call, that call is permanently stuck there and will always show up as a new missed call when I restart my phone.
