text notification issue

I have searched the web and forum and done all of the things I have seen before(checking my notification volumes etc). I picked up a gear 2 two weeks ago and now I no longer get a text sound on my phone. comes through my gear 2 fine when it is connected but if I am not wearing my watch or if it is disconnected, there is no text sound. All other sounds work just fine, and I think it was working when I first got the Gear 2. Only noticed it in the past 3 or 4 days. Any thoughts? I am certain it is doing this when bluetooth is off and the watch is NOT connected as well. Thanks.

I read an article somewhere stating that the update to the Gear App for phones was causing issues such as yours. The solution was to remove the Gear App updates and run the stock as came on the phone. I don't wear a watch so I have no personal experience however.
