My lockscreen is always dimmer than my homescreen, when I unlock my phone it brightens up. My auto brightness is off. Help.

I am having a simaliar issue. When I unlock my phone or just waking it up sometimes it remains very dim. I have to drop down the notification bar and either uncheck or check auto dimness. Doesn't matter if is set or not it doesn't automatically work. Unchecking or checking is the only way to start getting it to work.
Another issue with the lock screen is it only stays on for about 3 seconds. I barely have time to look at it or swipe to unlock it.
I am not trying to highjack your thread but just wondering if these issues are related to yours. Lollipop has been nothing but a buggy mess for me.

Well it is 7 am here, I was in bed when you posted.

Is your screen on auto-brightness?

OK, hard to tell because my screen is dark, but it looks like my lock screen is a bit more dim than my home screen. That might just be the way it is set up.

Yeah, I can see your lock screen is a bit dimmer than your home screen. I was just a little flustered when I posted this because people ignored it. I'd rather have somebody post "I dont know." Then completly ignore it.

This has happened to me, although hasn't happened since lollipop. I did find that it definitely seemed to be affected by ambient light regardless of whether autobrightness was set or not.

It has nothing to do with brightness. Adjusting the brightness of your phone and taking a screenshot does not reflect a change it brightness. It would look the exact same.

It appears a transparent overlay is over lockscreens.
