Download in background on Lollipop

My Note 4 has Lollipop. On my Note 2, with KitKat, I could download in the background, from any browser. Now, to download, I have to keep the browser on the link page. Is there a way to work around this?

That depends on the browser, not the phone.

I'm not sure that's true. On my Note 2, I could download in the background from any browser. With Lollipop, none.

I have no problem downloading in the background on my Note 4 on lollipop. Try pulling your battery or resetting if necessary.

Any browser, li2327, or one specific one? I've tried Chrome, Dolphin, and Opera. I'll try the battery pull. Thank you.
