custom font support gone?

I know this has been discussed in the marshmallow threads, but wondering if anyone has knowledge on whether the lack of ability to apply 3rd party fonts is a touchwiz/MM thing or just an app update thing? I hate to say it, but it seems like it's a TW/MM thing....I just don't see why font app developers would have to update anything to work w/ new software. I don't know anything about software though, so that's why I'm posting here. I will miss my roboto thin so please someone find a fix!
