Alternative keyboard characters not accessible

Hi, is anyone able to activate the alternative character setting on any keyboard else then the english one?

I'm in quebec, I'm using the french(CA) keyboard, however the alternative character isn't available, it's grey/not clickable.

Can you help me?

It seems like you are using the stock Samsung Keyboard and those characters may be accessible via a long press? If accessing via long press doesn't work then I would suggest clearing the app cache for the keyboard via system settings > applications > keyboard.
