I know the pre-orders won't be live till later tonight (12 AM for most) but I figure getting a thread going where people can discuss their thoughts about their pre-order with their carrier/store in mind wouldn't hurt, right? .

Sound off below if you're getting one... Oh don't forget to mention which color you're thinking of!

$39/month and no down payment with JoD. Finally, TMobile pulled their head out of their #&$%! with the down payment (although it will be coming for sure in August 2018).

Thanks for the link! Good to see Tmo is the cheapest. And great to see, as tour pointed out, that JOD is a truly great bargain this time around with no down payment.

I'm still bummed how tall this device is, as the V20 was way too tall and this is taller. Yet, of course, I'll be ordering one at 9:01 tonight....

I got a guy who works for t mobile.... So it's easy to just walk in at open on the 15th...and get 2 set(me and wife) and JoD from my S8plus. Plus.. He always throws in cases or whatnot for free. And... I don't have to wait for ups guy as I did last year to wait. Incase anyone decides to steal ups packages.

Just curious how this relates to Tmo saying the Note 8 is the 3rd ever "gigabit" class phone they will carry? They're touting crazy fast LTE speeds.

Gigabit is where they are trying to go and have gotten there (or close) in a lab. The phone will be capable but seeing those speeds in the wild won't be happening for a couple years most likely.

I hope the Gear 360 isn't the only option.
The link just went to the email notification page.
ETA their news says the same thing https://newsroom.t-mobile.com/news-a...bile-note8.htm

It's not something I'm interested in.

So when tmob offers up to $425 for a trade in (I have a s7E which currently worth $141 for tmob trade in) for former N7 owners, how would this be a better deal then jump?
I am currently eligible for jump (just in time) and could switch to an N8 without paying jump fees. I would send them my S7E and get an N8 with an higher monthly payment. (30-->39).

If I dont use jump and keep paying this S7E (another 12 months=$360), trade it in for $425 and then get a N8 I would safe whopping $65. Wow.

I don't see a real motivation here. Or am I missing something? I do have to keep paying the S7E if I trade it in without jump, correct?

They're talking about Jump on Demand. Jump is different. That's what I have. So I guess it's the EIP option.

Jump On Demand you can Jump to a new phone several times a year, no need for paying current device down by half. My JOD phone is an LG G6. Tmobile said once I get the Note 8, I simply turn in the LG G6 at a local store. Also have an S8+ but I plan to keep that as an extra for awhile.

The good news for phone Jumpers is JoD now allows a new phone every 30 days, up to 12 times per year.

So I'm using the V20, I'm paying the monthly payments and I'm part of the JUMP program, can I upgrade to JoD when I jump to the Note 8? Or would I have to fully pay off the V20 first? JoD sounds like it's a good deal for me personally and no down-payment for the Note 8 is very tempting.

I just got off the phone with a sales rep yes zero down but you still have to pay taxes up front which usually come out to over $200

Yep. One last hurrah! Then, the hammer falls. Don't forget they are adding activation fees as well next year. That is, unless they figure out the whole upgrading online for JOD.

That's not JOD, though. Taxes are billed monthly on JOD.

I don't know that most people are in the same boat as me...but, I don't see the benefit of ordering on the very first day. You don't get your phone any earlier than someone who orders on 9/9, most likely.
I will get the black and will most likely keep it for a year or longer this time, as they are changing the JOD terms by August.
It's odd they are only mentioning the 360 camera so far and not the SD card/charger as well. Are they trying to push these more?

Explain to me better please because I've been with T-Mobile the last five years and I usually always pay the taxes upfront and I do have jump I pay the additional $10 a month for it
