How can I use a set of USB headphones to talk on my Note 8?

I have them connected using the adapter but when I answer a call, it only goes through the phone.

Not sure exactly about your phone, but generally...

Go to Settings -> Bluetooth -> More, tap the settings icon alongside your headset and then enable Phone audio.

yes I have the exact same problem and its a known issue that doesn't seem to have any priority of being fixed if they consider it a problem at all, one source states that its because of phone recording laws, I have not found an answer to this and find it quite unacceptable and highly inconvientant diminishing the value of the phone greatly....

I guess USB mini to USB-C?
Or USB-A to USB-C?
