My Note 8 is No Longer Giving a Sound Notification. Please help?

I've tried EVERYTHING. Settings all tell it it should be making a sound....but it only vibrates! Even if I turn off the vibrate, it still vibrates. Ugh. I've spoken with Verizon and Samsung, and the bottom line I got was from Samsung to take it back to where I bought it and have them "reflash" it.
Anyone else have this problem? Have you tried the "reflash"? HELP PLEASE.

Welcome to Android Central! Is it only a certain app that only gives vibration for notifications, or is it every app? Does the phone make an audible ringtone when you get a call?

I wonder what would happen if you installed Zedge the app for notifications with different sounds. I know that when I first bought my Note 8, no way could I get Edge lighting to work and I installed the app and voila I had Edge lighting. Try Zedge as a test as it has the free notification sounds. I have Christmas bells happening right now.

Have you tried safe mode?

Have you tried resetting to factory settings?
