Screen issues Galaxy Note Pro

Just got this thing. Inside of a week, here are some issues I'm encountering. The first thing I did was did a factory reset. But installing all my apps and updating was such a pain. It was so god awfully slow. Everything was just lagging.

But now I have everything installed and updated(5.0.1). I use this thing a lot for viewing YouTube in bed. What I notice is the thing flickers a lot, which is really annoying. From looking this problem up, it seems to be an inherent problem with this model. Is there a permanent fix? Also, I noticed 5 white dots making up a Pentagon Symbol. WTH? Is this legit? When I view a Youtube clip, the Pentagon dots are in the middle of the video. What is this? Has anyone ever seen it? Any fix to this?

The pentagon is from youtube it's a indicator that the video is buffering.
similar to the spinning wheel or the circular arrow chasing its tail
