Importing vcard to correct account

Greetings, all. When I import an vcard contact from a text message, it is getting saved to my Samsung account rather than my Google account. This seems odd because when I go into contacts & look at Default storage location, it is set to save new contacts to my Google account.

Is there some other place to change the default to where vcard contacts get imported to? When I tap on the contact in the text message, a screen comes up that says Import Contacts at the top with the details of the contact listed. It only gives the option to Save or Cancel but no choice as to where to save the contact.

Try going to Gmail and importing it there.

Not quite sure how I'm going to open an MMS text message from Gmail?

I both shared & forwarded the attachment to my Gmail account but the phone doesn't recognize it as a vcard attachment afterwards for some reason.
