I just pulled the JB update on my unmodded, unrooted Verizon GS3 and I'm really enjoying the Google Now features. In ICS, there was a "Google Search" app, where you enter in something you want to search and it automatically searches it using your default web browser. Has that feature been removed and replaced with Google Now's text search? Does anyone else find that the Google Now text search is slower than the ICS Google Search or compared to if you just go into a web browser and perform a google search in the browser? Any way to speed it up?

It replaces google search mate. Any google search updates you get, are actualy Now updates. Same speed i think. Maybe slower outside the US coz it searches for apps on your phone and contacts as well as web.
Remember in homescreen u can just long press the menu button so no need for search widget
