From the fist moment I joined the android world I was hearing about rooting. So here are my questions:
1) What exactly is rooting?
2) How is it done?
3) What are the risks?
4) Advantages/Disadvantages
Thank you

1. rooting can unlock more advance features, you can edit and tweak phone , install custom roms
2. you can root phone through odin or by recovery
3. your warranty will be void and you can unroot too, rooting latest phones like s4, note 3 will void Knox security

Roms are of 2 type stock rom and custom rom .stock rom are official rom from samsung custom rom are editor or manipulated by developers.

odin is a firmware testing and flashing software developed by samsung

knox are new security feature developed by samsung which cannot be manipulated which is a very difficult to break .rooting your knox enabled phone will void the warranty. and you cannot install a knox enabled firmware any more

next time ask my friend google :) :)

if your phone have a software problem then you use odin to flash a new firmware to fix it. Odin only works in samsung mobile. That is flashing..

I am ready to help :)
