    Welcome to Android Central! Were they saved to Internal Storage or the SD card? Use My Files to look in the /DCIM/Camera directory, either on Internal Storage or the SD card. Can you see the photo files there?

    And do you know if they were saving to Internal Storage by default, or the SD card? If the latter, the card might be corrupt, and it would be advisable to use a different card.

    Thanks for your help still no joy will try new sd card...a lot of memories down the drain

    In the future, I would recommend backing up your pictures to Google Photos or another cloud service to prevent this from happening again.
