Unable to connect to Kies

Hope someone can help, I've just got a Galaxy S4 Mini after many years with iphones. I wanted to transfer all my data to the new phone so downloaded Sies

When I run it shows "connecting" for ages, then I get a message that the device is not supported by that version of Kies (2.6.3.16011_2) yet looking at the list of supported phones it shows

Have uninstalled & reinstalled Kies but it still won't connect.

Anyone know a solution please?

You tried to restart your computer after the installation of the Kies ?
Check also the USB computer connection from your phone.
Check the Media device ( MTP ) or uncheck it and check it again.
It worked for me....
