Hi!

I am having the exact same problem on my brand new Samsung Galaxy S4 (Germany without branding).
Everything else seems to work fine.

Google Drive Spreadsheets work fine on my Windows 7 PC (with Chrome), with the Google Drive iOS App on my iPad and with the Google Drive Android App on my HTC HD2 with MIUI ROM.
The error only occurs on the Galaxy S4.

I even tried the last three versions of the Google Drive Android App, but the error persists.

Did you ever fix the issue?

I finally found the cause and a solution to the problem, at least on my S4:
Recently, an update for ES File Explorer has been installed which was obviously interfering with Google Drive.
After uninstalling ES File Explorer, the error does not occur anymore.
Currently, I use the stock file explorer of the S4, but it would be great, if either Google, or ES File Explorer fixes this mess.

WOW, how did you find that out???
I had the same problem, and uninstalling ES file explorer sorted it out. Re-installing ES brings the problem back :( I have written to ES people.

I have latest version of ES File Explorer and Drive on my S3 and have no problem. I selected a spreadsheet in Drive and was asked if I wanted to open with Drive of E's File Explorer and I selected Drive and once and it opened just fine.

I don't have ES File Explorer....

Wonder if it has something to do with App Associations...
