how do i take the password off of my galaxy s4 if the digitizer is broken?

so i dropped my phone, and well the gorrila glass is perfectly find but the digitizer (im guessing what's under that allows touch and screen display) is broke. so my phone works, but the screen does not, while the back and home menu buttons work, i cannot get the screen to respond or even display a spark of picture. so i tried getting pictures and files off my phone to see if it would let me but, i cannot, and i tried on kies air and it says i cannot acess anything because the device is locked. but i cant unlock it, nor take the password off via the phone and i have no idea how. does anyone have any suggestions or any way i can possibly get my files off?

Take the SD card out and put it in a card reader for your pc? Should be easier that way..
