How do I get my contacts from my S4?

My screen is black but touch screen still works, so I can contact the phone by guessing where buttons are, especially with an mhl adapter projecting my screen to a tv.
So there's that way of controlling the phone, but it would be nice if there was a way to just connect USB to my computer and extract my contacts.

Is this possible?

I tried Samsung Kies, which worked in the past, but it does not allow you to extract anything from the S4 anymore.

You can try Smart Switch, but the phone still needs to be unlocked for it to work. And for the future, I really recommend you sync your contacts (and pictures, and messages, and settings, etc.) to the cloud, either with Samsung's account or with Google's. Saves you a lot of pain even when switching phones.

Try using MyPhoneExplorer.
It should help you extract contacts from your smartphone.
