I'm curious as to why you root your phone. I guess I'm not grasping the concept. What exactly do you achieve by doing it and what changes on the phone. Thx

Great articles. I guess rooting is not for me. I did read something about blocking ads. Is there software/app to do that without rooting?

I switched from iPhone and main reason i root is for, App ops so that i can disable location for apps i want, for example i don't want facebook to know where i am, which is not possible without root.

Also Titanium backup so incase you change phone, you can restore from backup and save yourself time.
