How to tell if your samsung galaxy S5 is unlocked

is there a code or something I can type in to see if my galaxy S5 is unlocked or not?

you could try downloading "phone info" off the Play Store, it'll give you all your Samsung phones info I just tried it today ironass clued me into it
It may give you an idea...

you may also just contact your carrier and ask them.

I downloaded that app.
thank you..but it does not seem to give that information.
the phone is not with any carrier at the present time.

Hmmmm.....
OK, your best bet is to pop a Sim card in from another carrier - say your phone is at&t, pop in a sprint Sim card, if it functions then your phone is unlocked - if it rejects it then your phone is locked to one carrier.

I realize this thread is a bit old, but for people who stumble in looking for the answer:

Open the dialer and enter *#7465625#

You'll see the answer in a pop up window

(7465625 spells SIMLOCK )
