Why can't I install Philz touch with ODIN on S5 i9500?

Can''t Install Philz touch with ODIN on S5 i9500

Hi guys, please help me with this.

I have a I9500 and recently updated to oficial 5.0.1 version. I don't like it and want to get back to KitKat (russian version I think).

The problem is that I'm trying to flash Philz trough ODIN and it shows as completed, reboots and everything as usual, but when I enter in recovery mode I still have the original. I also tryed TWRP and have the same issue.

Base BAnd: I9500UBUHOD1
Kernel: 3.4.5-4762109 / dpi SWDD6404#1

I was having the same issue with my Note 4 after the update. I found that rooting it first using CF Auto Root fixed it. I am not sure what it does but after I flashed CF Auto Root, I powered back off and then flashed TWRP through ODIN and it actually stuck.

The i9500 is the non 4G, octa core model of the Samsung Galaxy S4... Not an S5!

That could be your problem.

Also, AFAIK, PhilZ had stopped development of his custom recovery prior to Lollipop.
