My touch screen is sometimes working, sometimes not

I had an accident about 2 months from now, when my Galaxy S6 was in my schoolbag and somehow it got cracked. It worked perfect for a month or so and then, after the update to Marshmallow, things started to get worse.
My touch screen was not working properly. Three or four times a day, phone's touch screen lagged and it was not sensitive for an extender period of time and after that, phone unlagged and worked fine until the next lag. I've tried soft reset and sometimes it is working and sometimes it is not. So I am asking, if I should go to the service center, since phone has a valid varranty and request a new one? I am not sure if that kind of lags are because of the cracked glass or a system malfunction? Could you please help me? Thanks.

It's possible that not only the screen is cracked, but the digitizer layer as well. The digitizer is what allows you to touch and do things on your screen. If you're talking about "Samsung" warranty, I doubt they'll honor it if the screen is cracked.
