How can I use old notification tones on my S7 Edge?

Notification tones

I have the galaxy s7 edge. I want to use my old notification tones from my s5. I transferred my tones but unfortunately when I try to assign al message tones to my contacts like I had before the only options I get are the basic pre installed sounds given on the device. I want to bypass the devices features and use my own can this be done. Thanks in advance for any assistance

Welcome to Android Central! Did you copy the old tones to the Notifications directory on the new phone? The directory should be /storage/sdcard0/Notifications, not the one in the /system directory (which you can't access on an unrooted phone anyway). Also, are you using any 3rd party file managers like ES File Explorer? If so, make sure it's not the default app that comes up when you want to choose tones.
