Unless you use the EE branded firmware you won't get it

Agree - I put EE firmware on mine (bought direct from Samsung) in order to get WiFi calling.

Not only that the wifi calling options are hard to find since upgrading from Lollipop to Marshmallow. I'm on EE and to turn on wifi calling now you have to open the phone app>more>settings>scroll to the bottom and check the box for wifi calling.

Is the carphone warehouse handset on an EE contact unlocked with unbranded firmware then? Looking to leave 3 for EE and will either go to carphone or EE direct. Would prefer unbranded firmware but looks like the trade off is no Wi-Fi calling. Anything else?

Only phones from EE have their firmware by default so a CPW phone won't. Having loaded EE firmware, can't see any extra crap so it's worth loading the firmware. Check sammobile.com for details under firmware section.

Couple of questions. Does Sam mobile have the unlocked firmware if you want to go back to that?

Also take it when you do it you lose all your data?
