how do i reset my pattern if i have the fingerprint on my s7edge

I forgot my pattern but have a fingerprint on it so can open my s7edge

Welcome to Android Central! If you're using the fingerprint sensor, the phone should still be asking you for your backup password/pattern occasionally, for greater security (like when you do a cold boot). How have you been getting past that?
