Somebody explain this to me...

I have a 32gb Samsung S7. When I plug it into my computer, it tells me I have 22.8gb. Understandable; the OS takes up space that I can't access or edit, that's fine. Well, I've been using it for a while and now am at about 10.7gb of 22.8gb remaining. When I go into the folder, however, I am only using 3.6gb of data. Picture included below showing how much space I have remaining and how much data all the files in here are taking up. Where is the missing 8.5gb?

You might go in to Settings, storage and see how much space is being used by Cache. If it's a lot you can tap on it and clear it.
