Based on the issues people are having with photo results and video playback on the S9+, I personally would stick with the Note 8.
Many people buy a Note for reasons other than the pen. If you are one of those people, I can see jumping back and forth as each leap-frogs the other with specs. If not for the pen, I -might- have been interested in the S9+ for the speakers and the PROMISE of that fancy camera system. But I am a pen user, and it seems the camera system does not live up to the promise. I hope they can deliver a software fix for the camera and video issues - for the sake of all the people who purchased those phones. I also strongly hope they get it completely sorted for the Note 9 release. I look forward to what the next generation will deliver, and that would put a major damper on it.I would think Note fans would stick with the Note series but it seems like many like to jump back and forth.
Other than the stylus, what features would the note 8 have that the s9+ wouldn't?
Long story. There are numerous threads about it in these forums. Check them out. Softness, loss of detail, over processing, and the terrible front facing portrait photos. Then there is the "Black Crush" thread in here also, about video rendering issues. Not going to rehash it all here. What's wrong with the camera?
