My Files - I seem to have 2 Issue.

I have my normal "My Files" which I have everything in and anytime I transfer files that's where it goes which is what I expect.

However, I just downloaded a PDF from Gmail, and it now wants to put in into a folder called "My Files/emulated/150/".

This was not my normal "My Files" as my document wasn't there. I instead found it in my Secure Folder that also had a My Files, Email, Samsung Notes, Gallery, Calendar and Contacts. All of these had the normal icons, but all had a tiny blue little folder in the lower right with what looks like an arrow (download maybe?). Not one of them had anything in them other than the My Files with the file I downloaded.

Why do I have 2 sets of these icons and how to I get my downloads to go directly to my normal "My Files" folder instead of the other one in the Secure Folder?

I'm so confused...

Were you using Chrome in Secure mode? The Secure Folder partition is a protected section of your phone with separate apps and files behind a second lockscreen (kinda like a secret phone inside your phone). If you were running the browser from this mode, files downloaded would go to the secure section of the downloaded files (which can only be accessed from the Secure Folder section and not visible to apps outside it).

Yep that is exactly what happened then. Did not realize this is how it worked at all. Thanks for helping me...

I don't suppose there is any way to move a file in the Secure "My Files" to the normal one at all?

Yup. Open the secure My Files and hit the menu button on the file you want to move. You can then 'Move out of Secure Folder' from there. Or you can always hit the share button, select MORE APPS, and (with approval of the permission you'll see there about moving files out of a secure partition) then move to wherever you want or share with whatever other app you need.

Just FYI, there are no files in My Files, you just see them when you run My Files. My Files is an app, not a place. (The same thing for Gallery - you don't have pictures in Gallery, you see them when you run Gallery.) Not knowing that can cause a lot of needless confusion.

Yes that does actually help that they are two separate version of the app I guess where one is configured to show only secure files, and the other is configured to show all non-secure files and any folders I have created in that version of the app (why I didn't see the folders I made in the Secure version). Thanks...
