problem with default internet browser and google search since jelly bean

Has anyone else got the below problem and if so have a solution (other than switching to a different browser)!

I normally use the default Samsung Internet browesr and have google.co.uk set as my home page. Therefore when it launches the google search box appears in the middle of the screen. However, since jelly bean, once I then start typing words into the search box it dissapears behind the url address bar at the top (rather than being in front of it) and I can no longer see what I am typing into the search box.
