GMail updates on Tab S7

My Tab S7 still has the plain icon version of Gmail from May, although my phone (Note 10) has moved in to a newer version that has the multi-colored icon. Has anyone had their Gmail update to the newer version on the Tab S7? I'm aware that Google stages updates in waves, so all devices don't get an update at the same time...

Apparently it's not just Gmail, but also assistant, drive, and even the Play Store itself (the ones I was able to confirm myself, there may be more)

Something is wrong here and I doubt it has anything to do with staged updates by google, because I was able to force update the Play Store from within the app after clearing cache
