Can confirm on Android Q Beta 2 / Pixel 2 XL that the Gear Wearables app does not work.


My watch can still interface and pair with my phone (Bluetooth, calls, etc) but anything requiring the app doesn't work. If you complete the pairing process (which works), it won't open to the app.


Same thing happened with Android P, and even after the official release, it took Samsung weeks to get their app updated to work. Obviously, they're making it difficult for not using the Gear watch on a Samsung phone.

Okay, so I uninstalled the Gear Wearables App, Samsung Pay, Samsung Health, and the Samsung Accessory Service. Then I reinstalled all those apps again and it looks everything is running fine except Samsung Pay.

Must be for security reasons, as tapping on "Open Samsung Pay" has no results, and the Wearables app trying to open it made it crash beforehand.

So it will work on Android Q, you just need to uninstall Samsung Pay if you use it.

I had it running for a while with no issues, though I didn't keep Q on the phone for long.
