Stock Alarm/Dismiss - not working

So I use my phone for a daily alarm and for some reason it does not show me the option to dismiss the alarm before it goes off. I had this feature on my Moto X-2013 and loved it. I sometimes get up before my alarm and can just dismiss it without having to turn it off and then reset it. On my Moto X it showed in the notifications that an upcoming alarm was coming about 1-2 hours out. Maybe I disabled it somehow in setting up my phone.

Any advice - outside of downloading 3rd party app from the Play store???

Found this - APK Download: Android 4.4 Clock/Alarm/Timer/Stopwatch App With Fixed Font, Four Tabs, New Time Picker, And More

..and it works, although I now have 2 clock apps. Would prefer the stock Sony clock/alarm to work, but this will suffice for now.
