My Nexus S 4G (Sprint) froze this morning. I was on the home screen, touched the "Google Traffic" widget, which was running at the time, then when the phone switched to Google Maps, as should be the case, the phone just froze in G-Maps. Nothing responds. All I have now is G-Maps on my screen. I also had Google Latitude running on top of the G-Map (and GPS of course). My phone is NOT rooted and still running 2.3.4 (No OTA update yet). Holding the Power key for a few seconds did NOT work. Pressing Power+Volume (up or down) keys did NOT work either. I know I have some other options: removing/reinstalling battery and ultimately factory reset. But before doing so, I want to make sure that will be safe (don't want to lose data). All my contacts are synched with Google.
Any other solutions? Wil my data be safe after removing battery or factory reset? I guess a fac reset implies loosing all data, correct?
Thanks!
