I treated my self to a pixel 8 pro at bestbuy on March 25th. Open box 644 dollars and 93 cents. Obsidian 128gb. Not bad. More that 400 dollars off. Used obviously. But only 9 cycles so not bad. Basically new.

Everything is awesome. And with a poetic guardian case with builtin screen protector even better. But going to Budapest Hungry and Berlin Brandenbrg Germany and Istanbul Turkiye for 3 weeks.

I will use wireless charging just to be safe. But the letscom pucks I have are 15 but not EPP or MPP so it barely 100mah not even sometimes. Pixels need EPP looks like.

So I got a Belkin Boost Charge Pro from target 30 bucks also 15 Watts. Not sure if it's EPP. And no qi2 support in pixels yet so might not help. But the belkin is much better.

But still only 1700mah and like 7 watts. Half the supposed 15. What gives?

1700 at 5 is about 8.5W. Definitely still not 15W, but a bit closer (at least past 50% :D).
Is this with or without the case on?

I only get about 20 with the Pixel Stand (and requisite PD adapter), but that's through a case.

The downside to charging closer to the top end is there's a screen bug, where the overall screen has lack of touch sensitivity, and the bottom area (around the navigation buttons, ugh). becomes almost unusable - there are numerous threads about it.
I tend to charge mine at 2.4 on Qi because of this, quite annoying (particularly after buying the stupid Stand). It goes way back in G-forums too, with support responses, so not likely getting much traction...

Never heard of that bug PGrey mentioned. Mine does not do that. Adaptive Charging has been off since day one. The case is clear back so no difference probably. But I will check as soon I exhaust some battery.

I went down to 81 percent. I tried with the case on and off. 1740mah with care on and 1720mah with off. So not much difference.

Yeah, @0078265317, me either until it happened to me...
Here's one discussion example, there are lots on the Google Support forums, but the mods close the topics, fast, so not many threads with any real info in them.

It's annoying as all get out, given that I usually charge my phone in the AM, but use it periodically on the desk. Touch sort of works on most of the screen, if you touch several times and hold your finger in one place, except for the area where the buttons are, that's fully disabled.
I'm sure this is some sort of weird thermal bug or similar, where they think the current is overheating it, or maybe the potential exists, at 23W, good luck figuring it out...

On the Belkin, are you sure it's rated at 15A for non-iOS stuff?
I read the specs page and poked around review answers on Amazon and such, I sure can't find any reference to supporting anything but. Could be that the 9A rate is actually not so bad given the compat?

Ok I drained the battery completely last night. I charged with the Belkin from nothing to 100% in 2 hours and 15minutes.

Here in the description it says 15watts. Not amps. 15w is the highest with exception of the pixel stand 2. But still I am only getting 7watts.

Target

It could be the Belkin charger. I have had bad wireless chargers in the past and, if possible, you need to test with another wireless charger. THIS ARTICLE might also be helpful.

Pixel Stand 2 is supposed to be 23 watts for 6pro+7pro+8pro. But I saw 1 YouTube videos charging a pixel 6 pro from 1 percent battery to 100 percent in 2 hours and 10 minutess. And another YouTube video comparing pixel 8 and pixel 8 pro wireless charging. The 8 charged in 2 hours and 11seconds. And the 8pro charged in 2 hours and 15 minutes and 21 seconds. Not sure why pro took longer. Because 8 is only 18w and 8pro is 23w.

But none the less even with the official pixel stand 2 no better than me. Last night from zero to 100 percent took exactly 2 hours and 30 minutes. Only 15 minutes more. Not bad. So maybe good enough and call it a day.
